Nairobi representatives Dagoretti High School football team dispatched hosts Kisumu Day and Boarding 2-0 to reach this year’s KSSA Games semi-finals.
Dagoretti took the lead through Zablon Kutera before Hamdi Mohammed stretched the scoreline to 2-0.
Dagoretti are now through after also beating Mbooni Boys with a similar margin in their opening match on Tuesday.
Kisumu Day started strongly but fizzled out as Dagorreti grew in the game and created many chances.
Speaking to Mafans on the phone, Dagoretti coach Emmanuake Okuna hailed his boys for soaking pressure from the opponents and stumping up their authority, saying this could be their year.
They started strongly but we grew in the game and taken the three points, ours is now to focus on the remaining matches and try to win all our matches.
Dagoretti’s next match will be against Ebwali High from Kakamega which beat Kisumu day 1- before drawing with Mbooni 1-1.
The result will not affect Dagoretti having won their two matches, but will determine who finishes first in the pool.
“We are through to the semi-finals, but still want to finish top of the group. We will, therefore, give it our all, said Mr Okuna about their next match.
