County allocates Sh80m for completion of Migori Stadium

The stalled Migori County Stadium will be completed after it received Sh80 million from the county government.
Migori Governor Okoth Obado said the region’s stadium, will be completed to help in improving sports in the county
The County boss said the three-year delay in completion has undermined the growth of sports but they are determined to bring up to standard.
The stadium which was allocated Sh40 million in 2014 stalled in 2016 due to inadequate funds.
Obado was speaking during the inter-departmental tournament held at the facility.
The County currently has no stadium of a better standard, forcing teams to hold their matches at Sony Green Stadium.
Attempts by the sports department to spend Sh400 million to construct a multi-purpose stadium at Lichota met resistance from the governor.
