Wakali Kwanza leader shot dead as police pursue gang

Police on Wednesday night shot dead a dangerous member of the Wakali kwanza gang in Kisauni.
The man known by locals as Bwika was killed in a police swoop on Monday after deadly attacks that left four people in critical condition and 13 people nursing machete-inflicted wounds.
According to Kisauni police boss Julius Kiragu, Bwika and his other four gang members were ambushed while allegedly planning another attack on Wednesday night.
“He was among the group that attacked people in Bamburi and we are pursuing his accomplices,” Kiragu said.
Bwika is said to be one of the gang members that descended on residents on Sunday cutting them indiscriminately injuring a dozen.
Police recovered a phone, which is believed to have been stolen from a resident after Monday’s attack.
Patrol police were briefed by members of the public of gang members who were having meetings in the area.
