Secretary-General Wilson Sossion has been removed from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) list of teachers.
TSC also banned Sossion from teaching, amid an escalating row between the two parties, which has been running throughout this year.
In a gazette notice dated October 29, TSC boss Nancy Macharia said that Sossion, who was recently temporarily ousted from Knut leadership, will no longer teach in Kenya.
“Pursuant to section 30 of the TSC Act, the Commission has removed the name of the individual named hereunder (Sossion) from the Register of Teachers. Further, under the law, the individual cannot engage in teaching in any school,” reads the notice.
Sossion has however dismissed the action, saying that it does not affect his leadership at Knut.
The gazette notice comes shortly after the court ruled that Sossion’s doubling up as MP and Knut boss cannot affect his performance at the union helm.
