Shock as Form One student hangs himself in Molo


A family in Molo is in shock following the death of a 14-year-old boy who hanged himself after a quarrel with his brother.
The deceased, a Form One student at Mau Summit Secondary School argued with his brother over taking care of their cow before he ran away with a rope only for his body to be found in the bush.
According to Salim Langat, a directive to his brother to take care of the cow made him furious prompting him to pick a quarrel with him.
The deceased is said to have threatened his brother with a panga before he left home, prompting relatives to give chase in vain.
“He untied the cow and took the rope with him as we gave chase, but he disappeared only for his body to be found dangling on a tree in the bush,” said one of the witnesses, adding that the rain made it difficult for them to trace him.
Local chief Joseph Ngeno confirmed the Monday incident terming it as unfortunate.
