Several students escape unhurt as Kisii-bound Easy Coach bus rolls

Dozens of students on Monday survived death by a whisker after the bus they were travelling in veered off the road and rolled several times.
It was a lucky escape for students who were the majority of passengers in the Kisii-bound Easy Coach bus with just a few of them suffering minor injuries.
Some students said the accident could have been as a result of the driver’s fatigue.
“Our driver looked fatigued, he kept on losing control before he veered off the road. I thank God that we managed to survive,” said one of the students who were in the ill-fated bus.
Coincidentally, the accident took place a few metres from where 800 meters World Champion David Rudisha was involved in another accident.
The sharp corner is synonymous with accidents, with two buses belonging to Nyamira Express company colliding head-on a few months ago.
Keroka Police boss Walter Abondo told reporters that the injured students were treated and discharged from Keroka District Hospital.
“Some of them suffered minor injuries, they were treated and allowed to continue their journey. We are still investigating the course of the accident,” Abondo said.
