Deputy President William Ruto has described as fake news reports in the media claiming that President Uhuru Kenyatta avoided him at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Saturday evening.
In a tweet on Sunday, DP Ruto dismissed the reports, adding that he was nowhere near JKIA as claimed by the media.
“FAKE NEWS ALERT!!! I was nowhere near JKIA. I am NOT surprised that some media houses & their owners are this desperate. Tuwasamehe tu!!,” he tweeted.
Ruto described the reports as cheap and lies being peddled by desperate media houses and their owners.
The DP singled out the Standard Newspaper for the attack even though People Daily owned by Mediamax Networks Limited associated with the President also carried the story.
Ruto, however, said he had forgiven the publication for publishing the devastating claims.
