Police have impounded more than 300kg of meat suspected to be contaminated.
The meat had been hidden in a house in Asian Quarters area, Nyeri.
“The beef is not fit for human consumption.
We suspect it is from a stolen cow because the owner of the house we found the meat in is not a licensed beef dealer,” said Nyeri County police Commander Adiel Nyange.
He added that the suspect supplied the meat from his house.
“We had arrested the suspect two months ago over a similar offence but he was released on Sh100,000 bond,” the County police commander said.
