A viral video of a cop insulting and beating up a journalist in Likoni, Mombasa has been received bitterly by the citizens.
Taking to social media, the angry citizens addressed the Inspector of Police to act immediately.

Upon receiving the news, the Inspector General of police Hilary Mutyambai said that they will take action against that police officer who was captured on video assaulting a journalist.
Also, in response to the action, Coast police boss Augustine Thumbi said he was unaware of the clip and did not want to see it.
The Kenya Editors Guild president Churchill Otieno also condemned the action saying that he was not an officer of law rather a criminal. Adding on that, he demanded that the cop be disarmed and prosecuted in a court of law.
On early presser, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said that they will take an action against those who will not adhere to the directive. It should also be reflected to rogue and opportunistic uniformed officers who will be found responsible of such
