Part of Sh72m bank heist recovered at cowshed in Kakamega


Detectives on Monday recovered Sh1 million, which is part of Sh72 million stolen from Nairobi West ATM.
The detectives recovered the said amount from a cowshed in Lurambi, Kakamega County.
One suspect was arrested in connection with the recovered money. The suspect, who was later identified as Bernard Sewanga, is an employee of the G4S Company.
Sewanga was arrested in a newly constructed house in Ruiru after he disappeared before he led the detectives to Kakamega where the money was found.
The DCI has since said the probe is still ongoing and more culprits will be brought to book as soon as possible.
“Sh1m which is believed to be part of Sh72m stolen from Nairobi West has been recovered from a cowshed in Lurambi detectives. A suspect; Bernard Sewanga, an employee of G4S who had gone into hiding was also arrested,” DCI said.
