Rajesh Kumar had reported to Parklands Police Station that he had been attacked by unknown people while driving on Forest Road who robbed him of Sh10.5 million on July 22.
Kumar was however arrested after it emerged that he had only collected Sh3.2 million which he banked and not the Sh10 million.
“Investigations established that the suspect only collected Sh3.2 million and not Sh10.5 million as he had indicated when he reported a robbery incident. Detectives also established that the money was stolen and instead was banked by the suspect,” read the statement in parts
The other remaining amount was never collected from the customers as claimed.
