Leaders urge Mandago to go for Senate seat after second term

Uasin Gishu leaders have continued to urge Governor Jackson Mandago to go for the Senate seat when his term expires in 2022
Led by Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut, the leaders have told Mandago not to retire when his second term expires in 2022 and instead run for the Senate seat, saying he is too young to retire.
Speaking in his constituency when he toured development projects said Uasin Gishu still need Mandago and that he is too young to retire from politics.
“I want to call on our Governor Mandago to rethink his position and vie for Uasin Gishu Senate come 2022 to continue serving our people,” said the legislator who claimed he had been sent by his constituents to deliver the message to the governor.
“As a senator, Mandago will use his experience to push for laws that will strengthen devolution,” he said.
The leaders have hailed Mandago for initiating numerous development projects during his tenure as governor.
Mandago will not be eligible to vie for the governor’s seat after completing his second term in office.
