The Kenya Bus Service (KBS) management has accused the police of failing to take action despite numerous reports on the rampant cases of theft and robbery inside their fleet buses.
KBS management said that they have always reported cases of pickpocketing in their buses to police but nothing has been done.
“We have reported this issue of pickpockets operating on PSV over and over to the security agents including the one that Miriam is talking about. We have written several letters to the police raising these issues but nothing has been done so far,” a statement posted on their twitter read in parts.
The management has been on the spot after some passengers accused their crew of colluding with the muggers who operate in their buses.
The most recent incident is reported to have happened on Sunday afternoon in one of their buses along Ngong Road.
Miriam Wanda, who boarded a KBS bus claimed a female passenger was mugged by four men in one of the buses registration number KBZ 997Z.
Passengers have lost phones and other valuables to muggers who pounce on them while travelling with the buses.
