Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has defended a flying squad officer who was shot dead on suspicion of being a robber in Ruaka, Kiambu county.
Daniel Etyang was shot 12 times and the Uber driver who was in his company shot five times as they visited a house that was occupied by two Nigerians in Ruaka.
Kabogo said the slain officer was not a robber, because knew him on a personal level, having worked with him before he was moved to Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA).
“The late Etyang was my assistant for four years, thereafter worked with the MD KEMSA. I can swear he was not a robber, that’s nonsense, cold-blooded murder. The killers should face the full force of the law,” Kabogo tweeted.
Teso North MP Oku Kaunya suspected foul play and urged the government’s investigative agencies to speed up the probe.
He described the late Etyang as a highly disciplined police officer, adding that there could be other reasons.
