Ugandan singer Bobi Wine has officially launched his presidential bid for the 2021 Ugandan elections.
“On behalf of the people of Uganda I am challenging you to free and fair elections,” Wine said to cheers from supporters.
Bobi Wine whose real name is Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, first revealed his plans to run during an interview a few weeks back during an interview.
The singer has also come out to accuse Ugandan security forces of torturing him in the past.
As of now, President Museveni remains popular among Ugandans and is widely expected to run again in 2021 after the national assembly passed a legislation law removing a clause in the constitution that prevented anyone over 75 from holding the presidency.
