John Wambua, husband and father of the two Likori tragedy victims has declined to allow rituals that could help in locating the bodies performed at the Likoni Channel.
Wambua said he has received invitations from different people to have rituals performed at the channel, including slaughtering cattle, that would lead to retrieving the car wreckage and the bodies.
“I have stood firm in my faith. The only blood I believe was shed to save life was that of Jesus. I have turned down such overtures,” said Wambua.
Divers from different government agencies and private ones have been camping at the Likoni Channel but their efforts are yet to yield fruits.
Divers have faced several challenges including deep depth, bad weather, poor visibility and higher speed of the ocean currents in their operations.
Mariam Kighenda and her four-year-old daughter, Amanda Mutheu disappeared on Sunday evening minutes after their car slid from the ferry and plunged into the ocean.
