Gang beats up cop, robs him of his gun at City roundabout


A police officer is admitted in hospital after being attacked and robbed of his loaded gun at a city roundabout on Saturday night.
The officer attached to the Anti-Mugging squad was on patrol at around Globe roundabout when he was attacked by men on two motorcycles at about 9pm and robbed of a Jericho pistol loaded with 15 bullets.
The gun also assaulted the officer in the process hitting him on the head and legs.
The officer was rushed to a city hospital with various bodily injuries after the attack.
Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo said they are looking for the gang behind the incident.
Cases of officers losing their weapons have been on the rise with the weapons being used to commit crimes.
