Drama in court as woman grabs suspected killer in her daughter case


There was drama at the Eldoret High Court after a woman attacked a suspect accused of killing her daughter.
Beatrice Wanyotta, confronted Mustaffa Idd, a suspect in the murder of Emma Wanyotta, as he was being escorted back to the cells by two police officers.
The woman grabbed the suspect by his collar and threw punches at him, claiming he was behind the killing of her daughter before the officers restrained her.
High Court Judge Stephen Githinji while directing that the suspect be taken to hospital for mental checkup warned that Wanyotta against attacking the suspect.
“The court will not allow such kind of behaviour to happen here again. If it repeated again you will find yourself in the dock,” said Githinji.
“The suspect should be taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for psychiatric examination before he can be brought back to take a plea,” ordered the judge.
In her defence, the woman said she was angry because the case was taking time yet she wants justice for her daughter.
