Don’t insult Raila, we might need him, Savula cautions ANC leaders

Lugari MP Ayub Savula has cautioned ANC leaders against attacking ODM chief Raila Odinga, saying the party might need him in future.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and politicians allied to him have trained their guns on the ODM leader in what has been described as a fallout that began in January 2018 during NASA mock presidential swearing-in.
A former Raila ally, Mudavadi has since taken issue with Raila’s alliance with Ukambani and Jubilee politicians, with his party also demanding a share of the political parties’ fund from ODM.
Mudavadi during his trip in the US also hit out on the ODM leader over the handshake, saying it was out of pressure from the international community.
But Savula, also ANC deputy party leader, has called for calm and respect for the ODM leader, saying that Mudavadi will need Raila to realise his 2022 presidential bid.
“We should not insult Raila, we should respect him. Let us not have issues with him because we need his backing for Mudavadi,” he said
Savula who was speaking at a local TV station also hinted that the party will be coming up with a major union after the Kibra elections, one which he said will make Mudavadi’s victory in 2022 a reality, ahead of time.
