Body of KDF officer found lying in Lamu bush

A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier was on Sunday found dead in a bush under unclear circumstances at Hindi area in Lamu County.
Sources said the soldier, before his death, was spotted running by the roadside while removing his KDF attire.
“It is not clear what might have happened, but he was spotted running and removing his uniforms.”
Hindi MCA Anab Hajj said the deceased left his pants hanging on a tree in the bush under which his body was found.
“His attire was found hanging on a tree with his body lying under the same tree,”
The officer was part of security team deployed in the multi-agency’s Operation Linda Boni to fight Al-shabaab along the Kenya-Somalia border.
Besides fighting off Al-Shabaab militants hiding in Boni Forest, the KDF soldiers also provide humanitarian assistance to the locals.
The body of the deceased has since been taken by his fellow KDF soldiers pending autopsy before it is transferred to his home for burial.
