Assistant commissioner sacked after misplacing exam container keys


Lukenya Assistant County Commissioner Elizabeth Karitu has been fired for negligence after thugs broke into her car and stole a handbag in which the keys to one of the national examination papers container.
Machakos County Commissioner Elizabeth Maina said Karitu was arrested on Saturday night and detained at the Parklands Police Station in Nairobi.
Maina said Karitu reported to them that unknown people broke in her car when she was away and took her handbag, which contained the keys.
“The officer has since been interdicted and plans to replace her are presently underway,” said Maina.
She security has been beefed up where the container is and efforts made with the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to replace the padlock.
