Another 3000 to lose jobs as Betin set to close its outlets

Close to 3000 Kenyans are set to lose jobs after betting Company Betin ordered the closure of its over 500 retail outlets across the country.
After shutting business in the country, the firm will now close its shops in what now seems to be the final nail in the coffin of the company.
The gaming firm had last month declared all its staff redundant following a tax stalemate with the government.
Another firm SportPesa also shut down business in the country over the same tax issues, sending home all its staff.
Also affected are football teams that have failed to honour fixtures due to lack of finances after betting firms cancelled their sponsorship deals with Football Federation and Kenya Premier League.
