Watch Liverpool vs Arsenal match at home, Matiang’i tells soccer fans ahead of census

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has said the government will not review its closure directive for all pubs and bars in the country for the census exercise.
Matiang’i told football fans who follows English Premier League to watch the matches at home just for once so that the exercise can proceed successfully.
The fans are disappointed after the CS ordered all the pubs and bars to be closed this coming weekend to allow people to be at their homes and houses for the census exercise.
With the EPL match between Liverpool and Arsenal slated for Saturday at Anfield, the government directive will affect many soccer lovers.
Kenyan football fans had suggested that bars and entertainment spots where they normally watch their games should be closed by 10 pm and not at 5pm for them to watch the EPL match.
Also of the opinion is Nominated senator Millicent Omanga who has slammed CS Matiang’i for closing the pubs during census, terming the move dictatorial.
Matiang’i has however advised the soccer fans to watch the game at their homes.
” You can also watch Liverpool and Arsenal play at home with your family. Maybe they will have a chance of watching a football match with you,” Matiang’i said.
He made the remarks on Thursday as the government briefed the country on the upcoming census exercise.
“I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have to carry out the census. We will not revise the decision,” Matiang’i added.
